Before and after foot surgery
BELOW - A severe bunion before and after surgery. This patient had a Lapidus bunionectomy procedure. This procedure is a fusion of the first metatarsal and medial cuneiform bones in order to straighten the first metatarsal.
BELOW - This is a moderate to large bunnion. Correction was performed using a first metatarsal osteotomy. This patient had both her left and right feet operated on, on two separate days, approximately 4 weeks apart.
BELOW - This patient had a severe bunion and a small tailor's bunion. The second picture was taken in the operating room with the tourniquet still inflated, hence the skin color. The bunionectomy is performed with a mini scarf osteotomy. The tailor's bunionSurgery was performed with a fifth metatarsal osteotomy.
BELOW - This patient had a severe bunion. She also had a overlapping second digit. Surgery performed was a scarf osteotomy of the first metatarsal and akin osteotomy of the proximal phalanx.
